In 1995 he founded the film magazine „Schnitt“which he still heads as publisher. The focus of his work lies in European film. Next to the journal, he also publishes film books, translates texts on film history, gives lectures on cinematic themes. In May 2002 he was appointed Eastern-Europe delegate to the Berlin Film Festival and still holds this position today. Since 2007 he is also handling the Central-European countries for the Festival. Antoine Simkine is a co-founder and ex CEO of the internationally renowned visual effect company Duboi were he was involved as a visual effect executive producer and created visual effects for the movies “Asterix and Obelix Take on Caesar“, “Amelie from Monmartre”, “Alien. Resurrection”. Since 2004, he’s an independent producer and has joined the ACE program in 2008 (Ateliers du Cinéma Européen).
