About director:

Writer and filmmaker Ritesh Batra (born in Mumbai, India) was educated in film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, but dropped out in 2010 to work as an independent filmmaker. He alternates between living in Mumbai and New York. His new project "The Lunchbox" is part of the 2011 Binger NFDC Screenwriters' Lab, a workshop for writing and selling original Indian screenplays to the international market.
